Lavandula angustifolia

Lavender is perhaps the best-known essential oil in aromatherapy. Grown in France, Bulgaria, the UK and more recently WA, OR and CA in the USA, sweet lavender oil is obtained through steam distillation from the flowers and leaves.  Used for centuries in many cultures for a wide variety of ailments, sweet lavender is best known as a relaxant, sleep aid and all-around restorative for the nervous system.

Blends well with: most oils, all citrus, chamomile, geranium, clary sage, ylang ylang

Major constituents: linalool, linalyl acetate, perillyl alcohol, limonene, flavonoids
